I was walking through the centre yesterday and asked myself the question “are we doing all we can to let people know about us and how they can help us?” I had a meeting with Sahira and Fergus to discuss how we could achieve this. Fergus suggested a news letter that could be sent out. He thinks we could let people know about the plans for the new building and about future charity events. Sahira believes that the most important thing for us to tell the people about the financial costs for the centre and also our adoption programme. I think people like would like quizzes or a competition. See, we have plenty of ideas about the contents for it, but we don’t have the skills to create one that will catch the public’s attention. We have had a growth in donars over the last few months so we need to keep them up to date with news. We need it to be as professional as possible, and also make sure that the information in them is relevant and correct. We can’t afford any mistakes with our first issue. |

Rob has decided that a newsletter needs to be ready to be distributed in the next two weeks.
Create a new blank newsletter of at least three pages, perhaps using a wizard or template in a desk top publishing program.

Change the colour scheme of the document so that it matches the colour scheme you decided earlier.
Include the company logo on at least the front page
Try to include other design elements that you have used on the other documents you have designed.

Now you need to write the stories and articles that will fill the newsletter. Here are some ideas, you can use them if you want.
An article on the running costs of the charity
Pets corner with advice on pet care
Adoption of the month with a profile of a particular animal.
An advertisement
An article describing the services we offer
A day in life diary of a pet rescue worker
What's new on the website
A quiz or competition which can be sent off for a prize
Building Appeal update

Make sure you include good quality images, at least one table and a chart. If you get your images from the internet, make sure they are copyright free and you acknowledge where you got them from by putting the web address under the image.
You could also use clipart if you want.
On this website you can search for copyright free images.
